I wrote the following post back in October of 2014, but decided to use it again with the above picture. The only thing I’d add is, “how sad to reach a time in your life when you should be graciously accepting bouquets of roses from your peers and instead you’re being pelted with rotten eggs. Job 13:26
Bill Cosby. This afternoon, I was asked what I thought about the allegations against Bill Cosby and I answered, that I’d heard them before around the time that his son Ennis was killed. There was so much speculation over who might have killed Bill Cosby’s son and why, that the Press dug deep into both father and son’s past. And that is when I first heard about the rape allegations against Bill Cosby.
I, like a lot of people, could not fathom Cliff Huxtable being a rapist or having any sort of a sexual perversion. But what we failed to realize, then and now, is that Bill Cosby is NOT Cliff Huxtable. Cliff Huxtable was a fictional character portrayed by Bill Cosby.
Unfortunately, under the persona of Cliff Huxtable, Bill Cosby was able to do pretty much as he pleased. And grown women, who should have known better, willingly, put themselves in harm’s way just to be connected with someone famous. I mean really, who takes unidentified pills from a man they don’t know. That’s the first rule we teach our daughters when they start dating. “Don’t accept drinks or pills from a guy you just met.
It is terribly unfortunate that these allegations should surface now at the end of what seemed a distinguished career and charitable giving. And also, at a time when so many Black men and their careers are being derailed by their mistreatment of women, i.e. Mel Reynolds, Jovan Belcher, Morgan Freeman, Ray Rice, and Columbus Short, just to name a few.
I truly, with all my heart hope these allegations are not true, after all Bill Cosby has four daughters. However, Janice Dickinson’s claims do add credibility to the story.
My last words on the subject are, Hanibal Buress, be very careful in the future, especially how you treat women, because, “What goes around, comes around.

Wait! I do have one more thing I wish to write. Camille, if you believe your husband to be innocent of these allegations, pull a Hilliary and stay with him. Remember the movie Mystic River by Clint Eastwood, the innocent guy is convicted because his wife refused to stand with him, while the guilty guy goes free because his wife believed in him. Sometimes, that’s all it takes.
