I kept thinking about that all this weekend and what I’d do if the unthinkable happened.
Would I run around trying to gather up all the ‘valuable’ things in my home? Or would I try and call all of my relatives and tell them that I love them? Would I pray and ask God for forgiveness. Would I bargain with God for more time – I promise to be good if you let me live? Or would I do like most people say they would and try to pack up the vehicle, hit the road, and try and get out of the city along with three million other people.
After thinking about that and listening to and reading other people’s responses, I don’t think I’d do any of the things listed above. While I didn’t have an easy life – there’s that stalking thing – the latter part of it is becoming remarkable (@METoo and https://mystalkingblog.wordpress.com). And that is showing me there is a God who exacts justice.
I usually try and keep enough canned goods, water, matches, bleach, charcoal, a mini grill, and candles in the house. So, I think I’d pour myself a vodka and Sprite, say my prayers, try and call my relatives, and wait. The Bible says God always keeps a remnant.
On the funny side. Since this happened at 8:08 on a Saturday morning, I’d probably sleep through the whole thing. The powers that be need to schedule the end of the world for later in the day.
