I know most of you thought I’d immediately jump on my keyboard and dash off an impassioned plea for gun control after the attempted school shooting here in Illinois on Wednesday and the horrible actual school shooting on Friday in Texas.
I have come to the same conclusion I came to when I turned 50 after being viciously stalked since I was 23. No help is coming. No matter how hard I plead, urge, or try and reason, no help is coming. That was 15 years ago. And, yes, I’m still being stalked!
Because someone else, with more money and power, has told the authorities not to send help.
And I know the same thing has happened with the school shootings.
No help, in the form of gun control, is coming.
The NRA and its supporters have told the authorities (The House of Representatives, The Senate, The Governors, and The Mayors) not to do anything, with significance, about gun control. Of course, they’ll send the Police in the aftermath to clean up and stabilize the situation but actually do something about guns and school shootings.
Thankfully, this school year is nearly over.
