Megan Kelly’s Interview With President Putin

This past Friday night, I watched Megan Kelly’s interview with Vladimir Putin, which at the time I didn’t know was edited down to one hour. And I was disappointed with it because I was expecting an interview and not an interrogation. Continue reading

Arming Teachers?

AR-15 Assault Weapon.  The type used in the Florida shooting

Arming teachers?  Ridiculous!  Let’s stop and think for a moment.  Suppose, that in the course of a school shooting, the armed teacher (who has a military background) accidentally shoots another teacher, or God forbid, a student.  Who is liable for that?  The School?  The teacher?  Or the Federal Government?

Quiet Reflections #MeToo

The Thinker in The Gates of Hell at the Musée Rodin

I have been sitting here, in this semi-quietness (the stalkers have toned down their screaming until my bedtime), thinking about how when I first started blogging STALKED! By Voices back on December 3, 2011 and my stalking blog back on December 4, 2011 as part of STALKED and officially on January 6, 2014, that I thought it was all about me.  Continue reading

Designated Survivor Skeptics

To all my skeptics concerning my last post, Designated Survivor, I’d like to offer this.

But before I do, let me say this about writing.  As I started to learn my craft, one of the mantras that I always heard was, “Play to your audience.”  Or “Write for your particular audience.”   And knowing that, I know exactly why what I wrote was ‘damped down’.  Continue reading

Vision, Purpose, and Goals

Bishop T. D. Jakes’ Vision, Purpose, and Goals

I hadn’t done a post with Bishop T.D. Jakes in a while, but two weeks ago, I kept getting the answer, ‘T.D. Jakes’.

What was the question?  God I need help finishing my latest book.  It is s o o o o o late.

I’m glad I listened because, as a writer, I found this tag team lecture and sermon both relevant and inspiring.

I listened to it twice and I realized that the problem was that I had lost focus.  I’d lost focus, not because the book wasn’t interesting but because it was hitting to close to what was happening in real life.  And as a writer, you don’t want your readers to think that you’re just re-hashing the local News.  So, I put the book down – not once, – not twice, but three times.

This lecture/sermon inspire me to:

a.  Put a new tagline (trailer) on both my websites (  and

elizabooks is well written easy to read contemporary fiction.  No flowery prose.  No stopping your reading experience every five minutes to pick up  a dictionary.   Just well written fiction using everyday words.

b.  to outline and re-write the last 15 chapters of

Enjoy and be inspired!

When There’s Blood In The Streets

what terrorism does

I was about to write a post on, Selective Hearing, but before I do  that I’d like to share with you a quote I heard a long time ago but didn’t understand the significance under recently.

And that quote paraphrased a quote by 18th Baron Rothschild.  The good old  – or insightful – Baron Rothschild said, “The time to buy is when there’s blood in the streets.”

Baron Rothschild, an 18th century British nobleman and member of the Rothschild banking family, is credited with saying that “The time to buy is when there’s blood in the streets.” He should know. Rothschild made a fortune buying in the panic that followed the Battle of Waterloo against Napoleon.

The paraphrase that caught my attention was, “When there’s blood in the streets, there’s money to be made.”

At the time I heard it, I thought that’s ridiculous.  If there’s blood in the streets, no one will be out in the streets.  The sensible people will be  at home.

Behind, door locks, door jams, and high end surveillance equipment.

And, If I owned a glass company, I’d be out there hawking my ass off selling bullet proof glass that can be installed in cars and homes!

Or Kevlar car door siding that clips on and off. (Chicago has a lot of Expressway shootings!)

Or double strength steel fence inter lays that can be installed over your existing wrought iron or steel fencing.

And, if you’ve got a gang member in your household, why not insure him or her for as little as $20.00 a month.  (Insurer cannot claim full amount of policy until 2 years of payments have been made.)

And now, you can arrest more people and put more people in jail and make a fortune selling them stuff like, books, magazines, snacks, drinks, toothache medicine, Kotex, INSAIDS, etc.

“When there’s blood in the streets, there’s money to be made.”  Now I understand.

Watch yourself President Trump.  By putting troops on the ground in Chicago, you might just be messing with someone’s money.  And you don’t mess with Chicago people’s money.  Take that piece of advice from someone’s who’s been publicly stalked and humiliated for more than 25 years but has only made the News once in Chicago.

The only thing Andrew Holmes did was try and stop the violence and he paid dearly for that.
