Too Painful and Deeply Personal

In today’s post, I’m going to do something that normally, I work very hard not to do.  And that is, to write a post when I’m angry and take personal issue with a celebrity. Continue reading

Summer Reads ala The View

Hey Readers
Once again this morning I was watching The View and I got a great idea.
All month long the View Crew have been sharing their summer reads. So, I thought I’d share mine:
Below, is a list of what I’m reading this summer. First,

You Will Pay, by Lisa Jackson.

The opening pages of this book are riveting.  Ms. Jackson grabs you by the short hairs and holds your attention.  .
Now for something lighter.

The Vinegar Girl by Anne Tyler

You mean the clothing store, Ann Taylor? No. That’s Ann Taylor. I’m talking about Anne Tyler the author.

It’s funny and you’ll fall in love with Kate immediately and wonder if the preposterous situation her father puts her in will work.

And finally, my very own book, ‘The Hunt For Red November.’

It’s the book that got it ALL right, The Russian interference in the election, Russian sanctions, who would win the election, and even down to who would play him on Saturday Night Live,
Enjoy.

P.S.  Please keep me in your prayers for the next few weeks.  As many of you know I’m a victim of stalking and that has impacted my life greatly even to my work life. And it is with some regret that I put in my notice to leave my current job, in part, due to the stalking.
So that will mean that I will have to cut back on non-essentials like, cable internet.  I will be off the grid for a while, but, as Arnold would say, “I’ll Be Back!”

A Woman’s Voice: Book Of Poems

While I was laying low, trying not to write anything evil about our new President, i.e my views on his travel ban and trying to insure his next election by impeding voter’s rights, I decided to work on another project to divert my attention.

That project is a book of poems entitled, ‘A Woman’s Voice:  Book of Poems.’

I’d like to share with you one of those poems.  It’s entitled, ‘Yellow Dresses.’

Back in the day, I could totally rock a yellow dress, like Tracee Ellis Ross is doing in the picture.  But not so much today.  That is why ‘Yellow Dresses’ is followed by the poem, ‘I Am Becoming A Budgie.’

Yellow Dresses

article-0-1dd19e9300000578-305_634x995

I am Brown!
I am sun scorched and dark
My skin the color of burnt sugar

Yellow is my favorite color
It is the color of eternity
It makes my brown skin glow

Men, when they see me in yellow, hollar
“Hey, big leg girl
Where ya going?
Can I come to?”

Yellow is my favorite color
You see me in no other
Navy blue I am not
Beige is for cowards
Red is for hoes
And that blows
Cause I like red

But yellow is my favorite color

I Am Becoming A Budgie

From being a long tall drink of water
I am becoming a short cup of tea

Of course, there’s more to the poem, but you’d have to buy the book to read it.  This book is not on my website or any other place except Amazon.

I think it’s great.  Question is, when did kitty cats become so aggressive?  My guess is that they got tired of being picked on.

The Walking Dead – Negan

I’d like to say, before this Sunday’s mid winter finale of The Walking Dead, that I find Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s portrayal of Negan charming, irreverent, and dead on sexy.

In last Sunday night’s episode, ‘Sing Me A Song,’ he was funny, sexy, and scary all at the same time.

He’s the kind of guy that you’re secretly attracted to but would never admit it to anyone, not even your best friend.   He’s the guy you hide in the bedroom closet.
