A few minutes ago, President Trump was on TV, giving the nation an update on what he’s doing to combat the Covid-19 Virus.
And that reminded me that I wanted to write a blog concerning the lack of test kits available in America and why. It’s that inability to obtain test kits that highlights a real problem in America.
We don’t make (manufacture) anything anymore!
Back in 2013, I wrote a blog post entitled, Bring Back the Factories. I’m sure only one person in America read it. That was David McNeil, founder of WeatherTech who built a factory in Bolingbrook, Illinois, which gave a lot of Illinoisans much needed jobs. Thank you, Mr. McNeil.
That aside, we need factories/manufacturing brought back to America.
The Covid-19 test kits that we’re short of are manufactured in China. Do we really want test kits manufactured in and sent to us from a highly infected area?
This inability to get something we desperately need highlights a real problem in America. We need our factories back. Hopefully, this lack of availability of a needed item, will be a wake-up call for all of America, not just Chicago.
